Sant'Andrea is one of the most charming
resorts in the area of Marciana. You reach it by going along a country road with villas and gardens
on either side. There is a small stretch of sandy beach and some lovely granite rocks which mean that
either families with young children or people who prefer rather more isolated corners can be easily
satisfied here.
The breathtaking natural beauty of the area and the crystal clear blue of the sea around the bay of
Sant'Andrea, mean that this part of the island is one of the pearls of the
NATIONAL PARK OF THE TUSCAN
ARCIPELAGO.
If you prefer to leave your car parked safely in our private car park, during the summer months there
is a local bus service which connects the nearby villages with the main town of Marciana.
From Marciana itself, there are many little footpaths which take you to some of the most fascinating places;
one of these is Monte Capanne, the highest mountain on Elba at 1019 metres above sea level, but there is also
a cable car service which takes you right up to the top; there is also the Oratorio di San Cerbone and the
Sanctuary of the Madonna del Monte where you can visit one of the many Napoleonic sites on the island.
The services offered directly in Sant'Andrea village are: bars, restaurants, a few shops where you can buy
food and anything you may need for a holiday by the sea, a newsagent, a diving center and you can also rent
rubber dinghies, pedal boats, canoes; there is also a windsurf school and, for emergencies, a first aid point.
